A University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) student is spearheading efforts to make this year’s homecoming a memorable one.

Zoe Brill, a Master of Business Administration student, has been prepping for this year’s homecoming events for quite some time with her displays expected to be featured during next week’s homecoming festivities from Oct. 8 to 15, according to a news release shared by the university.

‘’If it’s an event day then I am running around bringing all the supplies down, checking students into the event and making sure the event runs smoothly,” Brill said in the release. “If it’s a planning day, then I am most likely in my office answering emails, ordering food or supplies for events, in meetings about homecoming and working on marketing.’’

For Brill, experience as an undergraduate student and now a graduate student provides great insight as to what students want to see, she said.

Brill is part of the team working behind the scenes to produce key campus events, in particular the student competition side of homecoming.

"Throughout the week of homecoming, the student organizations team up with one another and compete in events for points, and then we announce the winner at the homecoming game at Allegiant Stadium," she said. "We have events such as Window Painting, Rebel Variety Show and the homecoming festival. We also plan the Rebel Royalty and the Most Spirited Rebel competition. There is so much that goes into Rebel Homecoming with so many people working hard to put this week together!’’

Those interested in attending can follow the organizations Instagram pages @REBUNLV or @unlv.homecoming in order to see the event schedule. If there's one event likely to leave a lasting impression, Brill said it's the homecoming festival.

‘’Definitely the Homecoming Festival! I remember going to this event for the first time during undergrad and just being amazed," she said. "All the food is so delicious, and it’s such a great time. I also love the parade we have during the festival. When I was an undergrad, I got the chance to drive the golf cart for my team, and it was such a blast.‘’
